LOCATION:

The Isle of Raasay is one of the Inner Hebrides and is located between the Scottish mainland on the east and the Isle of Skye on the west. Raasay is accessed via the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry from Sconser on the Isle of Skye (there is a road bridge between the Isle of Skye and the Scottish mainland). DIRECTIONS: Follow the A87 towards Portree, after entering Sconser take the ferry to Raasay, set your SatNav destination to the cottage’s postcode, drive uphill from the jetty on the main road. On Raasay, a high road and a low road leads to the cottage. There is a temporary closure of the low road, so please follow these directions... Where you see the road closed and diversion sign at the first junction you come to – follow the road round to the right past the distillery, turn first left before you enter the village, turn first left in the wood and drive up the hill, after a few miles turn first left down the hill, and then turn first right for Balachuirn.  2 Balachuirn is the first white cottage on the left (park in the space immediately to the right of the cottage).  Please stay on tarmac roads only until you reach Balachuirn (any non-tarmac roads will lead you in the wrong direction). The cottage is here:
